About Me
Hi, I’m Chrissy Miller, founder of Wandering Neuron. As a neurodivergent person, I’ve always had a curious mind. One that thrives on creative freedom, passion, and meaning. For years, I followed a traditional academic path in the life sciences, and I loved many aspects of my career- from conducting science experiments and analysing data to teaching lectures and conducting outreach events. However, academia kept demanding more from me, it wanted me to be outstanding in contrasting skills, work weekends, and constantly be publishing papers, whether they reflected good science or not. Reading the job descriptions in my field felt exhausting. I realised, as much as I love science and teaching, academia is no longer aligned with my values. After realising this I felt lost and wanted to connect back with my sense of purpose.

Coaching helped me with this. It helped me reconnect with who I am beyond my achievements and my career and to rediscover the values that make life feel meaningful. Wandering Neuron was born from my decision to step away from academia and help women build lives that feel expansive, not exhausting. My coaching blends science and self-compassion, structure and flexibility, so you can move forward with confidence and design a life that feels purposeful, fulfilling, and entirely your own.

Why "Wandering Neuron"?
The name Wandering Neuron was inspired by both my mind and my lifestyle. As someone with ADHD, my thoughts often branch and wander like neurons firing in all directions, full of curiosity, creativity, and endless connections. What once felt scattered, I’ve learned to see as a source of insight and innovation. The name also reflects my love of the outdoors. I often travel, hike, and go on solo adventures to reconnect with myself, away from noise, expectations, and the pull to please others. Out there, surrounded by nature, I feel grounded and at peace.
The hiking neuron in my logo captures that balance: a curious mind in motion, wandering with purpose. As Wandering Neuron grows, I hope to bring this essence to others through clarity hikes and overnight nature retreats, spaces where women can pause, breathe, and realign with who they are and where they’re headed.
